James
James
Director, Front-end developer

I specialise in creating immersive, accessible and SEO friendly websites that not only look pretty but perform to best practices. I’m someone who strives to surpass client expectations and leave the internet in a slightly better place than how I found it.

I have worked with companies of all sizes and industries from aviation, healthcare, finance through to leisure and independent designers. Rob and myself have a working relationship back to 2012!

In my spare time, I love to be out on the water sailing, SUP or on land cooking, cycling and travelling when possible.

Rob
Rob
Designer

I am a designer with over 30 years experience. I’ve managed, planned and designed initiatives for Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Heathrow and Direct Line. I lead the discovery and design phases of brand identity and digital experience projects that respond to problem statements and business goals. Adopting design-thinking methodologies, I encourage a fast collaborative approach with our clients. I also mentor our junior and mid-weight UX designers in order to nurture their UI design skills.

Out of work I am a classic car nerd, which means I’m either under a car, at a car event or driving to a car event.

Mike
Developer

Mike Atkinson comes from a telco automation background. He writes and tests mainly in Python, JS and shell script, but is happy to turn his hand to Laravel, Perl and R when needed. He has an interest in the application of data science to software problems, and co-authored a paper on ‘Dynamic test selection using source code changes‘.  He lives on the South Coast and likes to spend his spare time in the sea with his family, reading, or indulging his new hobby of tinkering with Arduinos.

The ethos behind Is it meant to do that? is to have an agency of both creative and technical expertise where client expectations are not hampered within constraints of current technical offerings.

We like a challenge, and we like to challenge our customers to evolve their own ideas. We aim to be your business’ partner and competitive advantage.
